Notes

Note

From Mat,

Harry lived here in St. Johnsville for some years beginning in 1932 or 1933 ? The last entry for him in the store’s ledger was early October, 1937. I do not know if that’s when he left for Europe. Maybe. Uncle Dick thought it was 1939. Anyway, when he went back, he worked as slave labor for the Russians during WWII. After the war, Ukrainians in the region were forcibly displaced to the east. Harry died of a heart attack in 1955. I think he had two or three children. ( I have that info somewhere I think). need to better organize my information.
One more thing from memory. My father remembered seeing a fancy Cossack uniform belonging to Harry hanging in one of the closets.
